On April 10, the Ordinary Session of the Academy of Medicine of Medellin was held in the auditorium of Laboratorio Clínico Hematológico. On this occasion, recognition was given to the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the University of Antioquia for its 90th anniversary and to the postgraduate program in this area for its 60 years of academic activity. Likewise, Dr. Vilma Piedrahíta de Mejía was awarded the distinction as Honorary President of the Academy, Dr. Carlos Morant Villota and Dr. Jairo García Gómez were awarded the distinction as special members and Dr. Sandra María Vélez Cuervo was awarded the distinction as corresponding member of the Academy. Finally, Doctor Giovanny García Martínez was distinguished by the "American Organization for Medical Excellence" as the best and most outstanding professional in Health in Vascular Surgery year 2018-2019, for Latin America, Central America and the Caribbean. Congratulations to all of them for the distinctions received.
Once again, it was a pleasure for Laboratorio Clínico Hematológico to have the presence of the academicians of Medicine gathered at the Academy.
